Product Name: AF 32® eco
Environmentally-friendly glass with high transmittance
AF 32® eco is an alkali-free flat glass manufactured by SCHOTT using a special down-draw method that the company developed. This makes it possible to manufacture products between 0.03 mm and 1.1 mm in thickness.
Its fire-polished surface results in a low roughness value. Furthermore, the coefficient of thermal expansion of AF 32® eco is the same as that of silicon. For this reason, it is perfectly suited for optical packaging material in the semiconductor industry. Due to its high transformation temperature, it can be used in high-temperature applications of up to approximately 600 °C.
AF 32® eco, the semiconductor packaging glass, is available in various wafer formats and is manufactured using eco-friendly refining agents instead of arsenic and antimony.
- Same coefficient of thermal expansion as silicon
- High temperature resistance of up to approximately 600 °C
- High transmittance
- Low roughness due to fire-polished surface
- Various thicknesses available
- Tight thickness control
- Easy to cut
- Manufactured without using the refining agents arsenic and antimony
- Alkali-free in synthesis
Formats of stock sheets
Upon request, SCHOTT also offers customized formats and shapes within the limits of production and processing capabilities, beyond those listed below. Down-Draw glass types are produced with beads. Depending on thickness beads are cut off. All data are valid for the quality format.
Ultra-Thin Glass is not available as rolled material (sheets only)
